چکیده
The flowering phenology of six genetically distant strawberry cultivars (‘Candonga®’ (ES), ‘Clery’ (IT), ‘Florence’ (UK), ‘Frida’ (NO), ‘Gariguette’ (FR), and ‘Sonata’ (NL)) was studied for 3 years in relation to climatic parameters open-field cultivation at three locations (Norway, Poland, Germany) soil-less two (Italy, France), covering a distance 16 degrees latitude. This proved be useful approach unravelling the adaptation plasticity genotypes their suitability both profitable as breeding pedigree. Despite intercorrelated character variables, observed results highlight importance global radiation powerful modifying phenological factor strawberry. Generally, early flower initiation associated with elevated temperature radiation. revealed highest dependency on initiation, while least affected by In general, periods preceding following had stronger positive effect number flowers than crowns, especially under conditions. influence these factors highly variable across cultivars: ‘Clery’, ‘Florence’, were most affected, influenced.

Identification of successive flowering phases highlights a new genetic control of the flowering pattern in strawberry
The genetic control of the switch between seasonal and perpetual flowering has been deciphered in various perennial species. However, little is known about the genetic control of the dynamics of perpetual flowering, which changes abruptly at well-defined time instants during the growing season. Here, we characterize the perpetual flowering pattern and identify new genetic controls of this patte...
متن کاملEffects of flowering phenology and synchrony on the reproductive success of a long-flowering shrub
Flowering phenology and synchrony with biotic and abiotic resources are crucial traits determining the reproductive success in insect-pollinated plants. In seasonal climates, plants flowering for long periods should assure reproductive success when resources are more predictable. In this work, we evaluated the relationship between flowering phenology and synchrony and reproductive success in Hy...

BACKGROUND AND AIMS The timing of flowering within and among individuals is of fundamental biological importance because of its influence on total seed production and, ultimately, fitness. Traditional descriptive parameters of flowering phenology focus on onset and duration of flowering and on synchrony among individuals. These parameters do not adequately account for variability in flowering a...

To examine the match of the airborne pollen composition with the flowering duration of their contributing plants, the phenology of native and non-native plants in various habitats near the pollen-trapping site was undertaken between August 2008 and July 2009. The pollen load was found to have a ...

Spatio-temporal patterns of snowmelt and flowering times affect fruiting success in Erythronium grandiflorum Pursh (Liliaceae) in subalpine western Colorado, USA. From 1990 to 1995, I measured the consistency across years of snowmelt patterns and flowering times along a permanent transect. In most years since 1993, I have monitored fruit set in temporal cohorts (early- to late-flowering groups ...
